Aug 10, 2016 · Secure Boot is a security standard that is part of UEFI designed to restrict what gets loaded during boot time of the device. Microsoft introduced the feature in Windows 8 back in 2011, and every client or server version of Windows supported it since then.

- Secure Boot which ensures security standard deactivation and can normally be found in Security, System Configuration and Boot tabs. Open "Security" tab and upon finding "Secure Boot" standard switch it to "Disabled". The "Compatibility" parameter "Legacy support" should be "Enabled".
- It's 32 bit, so won't work with Secure boot. Try to create the linux version and it should be working. Edit: just realized that the linux boot cd won't work either if your disk is GPT. build 6514 won't see GPT disks so there is no way you can back up your drive.

So by default, you need to disabled secure boot in BIOS before boot Ventoy in UEFI mode. If you want you can turn it on when install or update Ventoy. For Ventoy2Disk.exe in menu Option-->Secure Boot for Ventoy2Disk.sh it's -s option.

I believe Windows 8 is the first UEFI-compliant product, but I have heard (so am not sure) it will boot on a non-UEFI machine, or an UEFI machine with Secure Boot disabled, which should allow for dual booting.

- Sep 06, 2020 · If you using Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, then you can disable Secure Boot without entering BIOS. You just have to hold the Shift key while selecting Restart. Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options: UEFI Firmware Settings and choose disable option for Secure Boot settings.
